Banana - Mango Smoothie
- 1 Banana - cut into chunks
- 1/2 a slice of Mango - any variety - peeled & cubed
- 2 tsp - brown sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup chilled milk
- Ice cubes
Method:
- Blend together Banana chunks, Mango cubes, sugar, yogurt & milk until smooth
- Pour into tall glassed, Top with ice cubes, serve chilled

I went a step ahead & made my smootie extra healthy by adding low-fat yogurt & skimmed milk. I could’nt afford to drink more of chocolate milkshakw with ice cream & ruin my workouts !! Whenever I go out, I always order a smoothie now.

Mango Lassi
Lassi is a traditional yogurt based drink,very similar to smoothie. Traditionally, Lassi is made using yogurt, salt or sugar & fresh cream. Mango Lassi is fairly a new invention. I got aware of Mango Lassi while in the US. It seems to be a popular drink in most Indian restaurants. When I tasted mango lassi for the first time, I simply loved it. I can have it every day
It was introduced to me by my hubby’s manager. I can’t thank her enough for that:)
I wonder, why is it not so popular in India!
Anyways, will head to the recipe now
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Ingredients:
- 2 mangoes - any variety
- 5 - 6 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 cups yogurt
- A pinch of cardamom powder/elaichi
- A pich of black pepper power
- A pinch of salt
- 2 - 3 ice cubes
Method:
- Peel the mangoes & cut into small cubes
- Blend together mango cubes, sugar & yogurt & a pinch of salt until smooth in a blender
- Adding a pinch of salt while blending brings out the sweetness
- Pour into tall glasses
- Garnish with cardamom & black pepper powder
- Add ice cubes
Tastes best when served chilled. Enjoi !!!!
NOTE: You can use canned mangoes to create a smoother & tastier drink
