Arise Mother, Dance

The Mother is waking up, getting out of her slumber. The shackles that were removed from her physical body 60 years ago are finally falling off from her psyche as well. She yawns and stretches to chase away the lethargy that was hers of late. She’ s clearing the dirt that had stuck on her; removing the cobwebs that had sneaked in; blowing away the cloud that had masked her intelligence; straightening the crookedness that had affected her gait.

Her children of freedom, who are removed from the traumatic memories of her captivity by a generation and more, are smart, bold, confident and hard-working. With ambition in their heart and energy bubbling through, they rear up to venture into the world with nary a fear. They struggle with their many hurdles and rise to shine. They tackle the world by the rules of the game; knowing how to change the rules; knowing how to change the game.

They have energized her. They’re clearing her debts; they are curing her ills; they’re cleaning her up; they’re dressing her up in colorful attire; they’re helping her bloom yet again; they’re shoring up their power to never let her down again.

Those children who had left her seeking greener pastures are returning home in droves. And returning they are – with their head high; their chest forward; their brains sprouting with ideas; their pockets overflowing with riches; their objective success; their practices – among the best. The ones who stayed back are welcoming their lost-and-found siblings. The Mother’s lap is ever accommodative, her love generous, her grace unmatched.

Those who aren’t returning adore her, continue to long for her. They etch her name in gold; polish it well; keep it high. The Mother’s blood runs thick, the roots strong, the memories green. Even those of them, born afar, who have hardly met with her, live by and up to her name, separated by geography but joined by history.

Her children, wherever they are, bask in her knowledge while learning all that is new and good from others. Their competence backed by several centuries of high thinking give them an exceptional combination for success. Like a small boy with the maturity of infinite births, they at once combine the age old with the modern. While preserving things dear to the Mother, they are nifty in imbibing positives of modern knowledge and practices from others around the world. Confident of their past, welcoming their future, they are expanding the frontiers of knowledge, technology, engineering, sciences, medicine, music, dance, literature and other arts, philosophy and what not.

The Mother’s beauty manifests through her children. The Mother, the Goddess, shall reign through her young. Like sugar, though dissolved still retains its identity, they permeate to provide sweetness for the world.

Like the thorn that lies beneath a rose, laced with envy is the awe with which the world perceives her. Shock hides underneath their surprise. Gloom & apprehension are covered by their sweet words of praise.

Her eternal wisdom is matched only by her everlasting youth. Like a river with ever new water, the Mother basks in her vibrant youth. While there are many other pretty ones around, none can match her strong, divine, pristine beauty.

A solitary strong train engine pulls several compartments to great distances. One good child can pull a family out of depths and take it to heights unimagined. With her many great children, the mother shall dance. She shall dance the celestial dance of nirvana – of the body, mind and soul. And they who make her thus are her greatest achievement – forever, the children of Mother India.
