Balaji, as he was always known, was a long time devotee, volunteer and an Honorary Trustee of the Hindu Temple of Atlanta. No weekend was ever complete without some one running into Balaji at the temple. He was upstairs in the Balaji temple or in the dining room downstairs, greeting all the devotees as they visited the temple. The office staff and the temple priests always looked for Balaji to help them in a never ending array of chores that needed to be done.
Balaji was indenspensible in the various special events of the temple, especially Sri Lakshmi Abhishekam, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Sri Satyanarayana Vratam, and Durga Abhishekam. He always brought special Pongal for Srinivasa Kalyanam every month.

This is truly a shocking news. All the old timers (of the 1984-87 era) at seepz would remember his presence. His face and body language seemingly exhibiting a laissez-faire attitude, masked a very serious and extremely helpful disposition. I was a major beneficiary of his benevolence, as I could get the resources from his manufacturing LOB (normally, or through “force”), whenever I ran into problems. He never failed to bring a smile on your face, irrespective of how tight a situation you found yourself in. Truly a great friend one was lucky to have had.
May his soul rest in peace and heartfelt condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear this sad news. I used to meet him at the Hindu Temple Atlanta every week. He was my manager/lobic when I joined TBL in 1986. May his soul rest in peace.

I am shocked to read this news. Balaji was a good friend of mine. Balaji came to meet me and my wife at the Atlanta airport in October 2008. I recently gave his number to my brother who needed some help in Atlanta. They even spoke to each other on phone, may be a month back. This news has come as a shock to me, my wife and my brother.
We spent a lot of time together in TUL and we also took robot programming training together in Asea, Milton Keynes, UK in 1986.
May God rest his soul in peace.
